Coaching vs. Therapy
Coaching is NOT therapy. Generally speaking, coaching concentrates on the client achieving future goals, while psychotherapy focuses more on the past and present. Both services serve as critical tools to help individuals further personal development; however, with different focuses in mind.
Therapy addresses deep rooted emotional issues and trauma from the past that are normally unresolved and reappear in our present behaviors, decision making and relationships. Therapy can be extremely helpful and successful - I should know because when I was taking therapy to address past trauma - it was the best first steps I took to resolve unhealed emotional burdens. Psychotherapists diagnosis mental health and emotional challenges or disorders, as well as prescribe medication.
I am a true advocate of therapy. The right therapist can help you release yourself from the past. NEVER be embarrassed for taking the necessary steps to achieve true wellness, mentally, spiritually, physically, or personally.
Coaching focuses on creating the life and future that you want. A coach walks with you through your process of self-discovery, by asking deep and thoughtful questions that allow the client to search out their true self and priorities. Coaches help to keep the clients dreams and goals in the forefront and serves as an accountability partners, ensuring the client has the necessary resources and plan to achieve their goals.
We do not give advice. If there is a serious situation where counsel is needed or required (medical, financial, attorney) we will advise the client to seek out such resources aside from coaching.
Our goal as the coach is to help you develop your intuitive guide and search out what it is you truly want out of life and then to help you execute those goals.
